5 Named Kappa Alpha Scholars

ROCK HILL, SC – On Saturday May 25, 2019, the Omegas of Rock Hill, Inc., held its Inaugural KA Scholarship Program at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. 5 seniors from York and Chester County high schools were selected for the scholarships. They were chosen based on the following criteria: Overall grade point average, leadership and extra-curricular activities at school, community service, letters of recommendations. Once the finalist were selected, they were invited for a formal interview. The following were selected to be Kappa Alpha Scholars: Keith Boyd Jr., Chester High School. Keith will attend Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC; Don Quese McCoy, Northwestern High School. Don plans to enroll at Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC; Charles Miles II, Fort Mill High School. He will attend Furman University, in Greenville, SC; Dontrel Simms, York Preparatory Academy. Dontrel will attend Winthrop University, in Rock Hill, SC; Jalen Woodard, Lewisville High School. Jalen plans to attend Amherst College, Boston, Mass. Each scholar received a plaque and a $1000.00 scholarship from the Omegas of Rock Hill, Inc.
